Marie Ursule Bietry was born in Bonfol, Bern, Switzerland on 21/12/1833, daughter of Joseph Bietry and Therese Munzer. Joseph and Therese were married at Bonfol on 3/5/1831 at Bonfol, and other children of the marriage, all born in Bonfol, were:

Therese Munzer was born 19/12/1809 in Bure, Bern died 12 May 1869 Bonfol. Her parents were Gilbert Montzert and Marie Anne Feunat.

Gilbert Montzert was a day labourer or peddler in Bure . They were married 25 Beumaire year 5 of French Revolution              

 

The name Munzer is German (meaning from the city of Mainz) and there is a reference to a Gertrude Munzer in Bern in 1274.

 

Joseph Bietry was born in Bonfol on 8/1/1802, son of Joseph Bietry and Ursule Lachat, who married at Bonfol on 1/10/1796.  There was a Joseph Bietry born in Bonfol on 3/3/1738 died 22/4/1821 Bonfol. As Joseph was 56 at the time of this marriage, it is likely that this was his second marriage.

 

There was one other son of the marriage, Joseph Alexis Bietry, born 10/4/1804 

  

Ursule Lachat born 29/9/1769 (no parents given -  probably from her death entry) died 19/12/1840 Bonfol, However, in Levoncourt in Haut-Rhin,  just over the border in France we find a Ursule Lachat born 17 Jan 1760 daughter of Maurice Lachat and Agathe Wathre. This well may be our Ursule even though she is 9 years older than the other date given. It is possible that this child died and they had another Ursule on the latter date.

The parents: Maurice Lachat  was born 17 Jun 1737 (died 29 Sep 1813 Levoncourt,and  married Agathe Wathre in    Jun 1754 in Levoncourt. She was born in Courtavon and died 1798 in Largitzen France.
