I have had problems in identifying Mary Anderson. The last mention of her which I can find is in the 1861 census of Beith, and until now I have been unable to find any record of her death.  She may well be the Mary Anderson born in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire on 22 July 1813, daughter of Matthew Anderson and Margaret Cameron. The naming pattern fits for the girls in the family of Robert Crosbie and Mary Anderson, but with only one son it is impossible to apply this to the male names.

 

If we have the right Mary, her father Matthew Anderson was born in Kilmarnock on 12/2/1785, son of William Anderson and Mary Kirkland. Her mother Margaret Cameron was born about 1793, in Kilmarnock, daughter of John Cameron and Marion Boyd. Margaret died on 18 January 1871.
